The rapid consolidation of the virgin of San Juan in the popular religiosity in New Spain from her famous miracle of 1623 in which she assured herself revived a small circus initiated multiplied pilgrimages to visit her and ask her for celestial favors.
This multitudinous gathering of all races and castes, attracted the interest of the forerunners of our independence led by Don Miguel Hidaigo y Costilla and Don Ignacio Allende.

The historical testimony where the war for the freedom of our country of the Spanish yoke was planned, was established in a letter sent on August 31, 1810 by Ignacio Allende to the priest Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, where he says: “Mr. Father Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla. San Miguel el Grande, August 31, 1810 … in the next meeting I will propose that the uprising be done in San Juan in the days of the fair, where without being unprepared at all, we will become good elements … Ignacio Allende [Signature] and rubric] “.
The course of history was different because the initiators of the independent movement of our country were discovered in Querátaro, precipitating the events and the revolution of independence itself.
